Katoen Natie: The discovery of antiquity

_

The building of the "Katoen Natie" houses a relatively small but beautiful museum in which textiles from the late Egyptian history, the private collection of the owner, is exhibited.

Lichtvormgevers has designed and realized the lighting systems for the different spaces of the museum. The system is completely finished in black so it's almost not visible against the black ceiling. Different accessories are used to minimize the glare. The exhibited objects are precisely illuminated with precision spots so the light only accentuates the objects. Art objects in showcases are illuminated with very small glass fiber lighting.

The end result is an exhibition beautifully illuminated with lighting components that are almost not visible. The dark interior in combination with the sharp illuminated objects creates a sense of treasure hunting and the discovery of ancient artifacts.
