In 2001 the first outlet shopping center was realized in The Netherlands that is in fact a complete new town, open 24/7 and which has a consistent experience.
One of the decisive factors in achieving the right experience is light. Lichtvormgevers designed the lighting based upon the architecture of this public space. After sunset the identity and image of the shopping center is completely formed out of the combination of public lighting, facade illumination and advertisements of the retailers. This creates a balanced, strong and fitting image, with which the public space evokes an optimal, ongoing experience.
