Lichtvormgevers developed and realized an integral lighting plan for the Grote Markt in Almere. The public lighting and illumination of the 450 meter facades surrounding the square, have come together in unity by the lighting plan. This way light adds an extra dimension to the experience of the renewed square.
Lichtvormgevers has developed a lighting plan with an asymmetrical build-up of light, which highlights the walkway on the East side of the square, being the main route. The square center has a lower light level. This way the light emphasizes the space and calmness, that the Government wanted to realize with the square, in contrast of the hectic hospitality in the city center.
During the process of design and installation Lichtvormgevers had the role of "Director" and guarded the quality of the project continuously.
